Kirsten's Apothecary

*occasional, mild anxiety and sleep support*

Serenity is an herbal glycerite blend of beautiful heart opening and soothing herbs, including oatstraw, motherwort and chamomile.

The herbs merge their properties in the process of maceration and enhance one another’s actions. There is a catalytic effect from this merging and blending of energies. The whole becomes greater than the parts.

Herbal Glycerites are made by extracting herbs in organic glycerine and clean mountain water. Herbal Glycerites are great for kids, seniors, alcohol-sensitive adults, or anyone.

Glycerites are taken internally. Either put right in your mouth or dilute with water. Even though it tastes sweet, glycerites have a low glycemic index, meaning it does not raise your blood sugar.

Glycerites are half as strong as tinctures, so the recommended dose is twice that of tinctures. Glycerites are best when used within a year of purchase.

The Ritual

Create a ritual out of brewing and drinking these teas by making a large mason jar at night before going to bed. Allow the tea to infuse on your counter overnight.

In the morning, strain your tea (save the herbs for a second brew) and drink as much as you'd like prior to reaching for your coffee, while watching the sun rise.

Add hot water to the herbs to brew a second jar and sip on the tea throughout the day. Warm the tea, on the stove, as needed. Try this ritual with the Nourish tea blend. Notice the changes you feel after a month or two of implementing this ritual.

Start unwinding around 4:00pm, this corresponds to the Fall Season energetically, by brewing a large mason jar of the Moonlit tea. Savour it throughout the evening and if possible while watching the sunset.

"When tea becomes ritual,it takes its place at the heart of our ability to see greatness in small things. Where is beauty to be found? In great things, like everything else, are doomed to die, or in small things that aspire to nothing, yet know how to set a jewel of infinity in a single moment."

Creating Your Own

Tea Ritual

You probably notice that when you drink tea, you feel calmer. If you savour the various sensations: the aromatics, the warmth running down your throat and the way your hands feel around a mug, it's easy to understand why. Tea, because it is served hot, must be sipped slowly. The physical act of slowing down can impact your thoughts and in turn slow them down as well. This is why people often turn to tea when they need to unwind: it is a relaxing ritual in and of itself.

Drinking herbal infusions every day is a beautiful way to honor the plants and nourish your body, mind and spirit.
